French Press Cafe

I was exploring The Noun Project and feel in love with this french press icon. It was a perfect starting point to design a coffee shop. So inspired by the simplistic design, I created this cafe design. The metal furniture pieces stick with the sleek, industrial look but the inviting shapes and hint of orange/red make this coffee shop inviting. I imagine a reclaimed wood cash wrap and a whole wall of windows. Yep, this little coffee shop is the perfect place to grab that quick caffeine fix. What are your thoughts? Would you grab some coffee at this French Press Cafe?

// floor plan //

I like how this floor plan allows for the same metal furniture to be used outside and inside and have the two spaces appear seamless with the whole window wall. The varied seating heights adds interests to the space as well.

Cartola

At work today we were searching for restaurant inspiration photos when I cam across this fantastic coffee shop. To my lovely surprise it is in Portland! Hooray. It is conveniently close-ish to our new digs. Double bonus. I'll be checking Cartola out this Friday. Seriously, could the interior be anymore fabulous?!

Starbucks, You Have Stolen My Heart

These pictures don't even do the makeover justice. One of the busiest Starbucks, University Village Starbucks in Seattle Washington, was reopened last month with its new design. It is awesome!!!! I have seen my fair share of Starbucks and this one is hands down the coolest one ever. Not only does it look good but it is a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified building. The concept of the coffeehouse design was it make it environmentally friendly, incorporate local recycled elements, and make it part of the neighborhood it belongs in. Check out this list of awesome reclaimed materials they used.

Coffee School

I refuse to go through a coffee drive-thru. I love the atmosphere of coffee shops. I could spend all day sitting in one. I am thinking I need to go to coffee school. The American Barista & Coffee School is located in Portland....yeah, perfect. I would seriously be there in a heartbeat if it didn't cost so much to go.

{if anyone wants to pay for me, go right ahead. No one is stopping you. ha}

Feast of Love - Trailer

This looks really cute. And it was filmed in Oregon...extra bonus. Parts were filmed in The Fresh Pot which is where the NW Regional Barista Championship winner, Alex Pond, works.

McDonalds Unsnobby Coffee Commercial

I love Starbucks even if it makes me a snob and I will continue to go there. And I actually like the guys prior to their switch over to McDonald's coffee. However, I do love this commercial. It is rather funny.
