D & E

Yep, it's been awhile. It's so easy to fall out of the routine of blogging. My goal is get back in and stay consistent. Wish me luck. I guess it's like going to the gym and I've been way better at the gym than blogging. So there's hope...

Rewind to September where I was a bridesmaid in one of dearest friend's wedding. We've been friends since elementary and it was such a beautiful day to be part of. I was able to help out and put together the Bride's and Bridesmaid's boutiques. Floral design makes me so happy especially when I'm proud of the results. And these bouquets were lovely. We got all the Dahlias from Pike Place Market in Seattle. Every booth was filled to the brim of Dahlias is every color for a killer price. Our bouquets consisted of Dahlias, Queen Anne's Lace, Bupleurum, and Ferns. Dorothy Huynh Photography did a superb job capturing the day and the result are flawless. Luckily, the Bride and Groom are pretty easy subjects too. Also check out more photos on Dorothy Huynh Photography's website. Enjoy the wedding photos.

Devitt Design - Michelle and Craig's Wedding

I am very excited to be sharing this post this evening. I had the pleasure of being a bridesmaid in my wonderful high school friend's wedding this summer. It was a long week in the breathtaking Lake Chelan, WA and the wedding was held at Karma Vineyards. Not only was I able to stand along side my friend while she married the man of her dreams, I was able to create all the flowers for the special occasion. I've dabble in floral design before but this was my first attempt at wedding flowers. I'm pretty proud at how they all turned it. They were so cheerful and fun...just like the bride and groom. So take a look at some photos captured by Stephen Probert Photography. And if you want more, then there's plenty more to check out here. I hope you enjoy all the flowers too. Happy Sunday.

Wedding Season

It's officially wedding season. Congrats to the lovely Jen & James who were married today. I'm sad I couldn't make it to sunny CA to witness the love and beauty. Congrats. I have another wedding to attend at the end of June. What to wear? It's a difficult question but I've got some ideas. Which of these outfits would you like to wear to a wedding?

Foxtail

I've got to let you in on this fabulous Etsy shop, Foxtail Boutique. It's a one woman shop located in Portland, Oregon. The designer, Betsy, is so immensely talented. You should hear the girl sing. Naturally, her jewelry is just as beautiful as her voice. Check out some of the lovely pieces below. There are so many more in her shop too. They're very reasonably price too. Check it out and you'll love it all.

NYE

Welcome to 2012! Hope everyone had a very happy new year's eve. We hosted a little shindig at our place last night which was a success! Here's a photo I snapped of our blowers and the swizzle sticks that I made. Love swizzle sticks.
Here's a couple quick photos of our festive table decor. I was pretty proud of it. Sorry, for the phone pictures. Resolution for 2012: take photos on a real camera and not my phone.

Holiday Time

We've been busy with holiday parties for the last couple weekends. We can cross an Ugly Sweater and Christmas Cocktail party off our holiday party list. Sadly, Joel and I never took a picture together last night while looking classy. I opted for a different dress than usual this year. It was a blush, tunic style, sheer sleeve dress. I added pearls, black nylons, an outrageous ring, and black wedges to round it out. The dress was great because I ate too much food and it wasn't a tight, bondage dress that I originally thought about wearing. So how was your weekend?
My legs blend into the oven. They are there somewhere...I swear.

Take a Listen

I fully believe that I have excellent taste in music. I also am always on the search for new music. Lucky for me there is a fantastic new group from Portland, Oregon that I've had the pleasure of seeing live multiple times. Yes, the band members might be some of my greatest friends but they are incredibly talented and deserve all the praise. So do yourself a favor today and take a listen to some of their songs on their Facebook page (click on "band profile" to listen) or their website (still needs some renovation work to it).

What do you think of The Gemtones? Do you have a favorite song?

back at the coast

We headed to the coast a few weekends ago for the annual Seafood and Wine festival. Awesome, right? Yeah, it was pretty fun. Here are a few pictures to recap our lovely time on the coast. I am always up for seafood, wine, board games, pancakes in the morning, walks on the beach and good friends!
The girls.
(I had to drive home early the second day. no wine that day. boo)
The boys.
Joel decided to walk out on the ledge. Makes a sweet picture.
I was excited to climb the rock.
a cheesy band picture?

Thanks to Andrew for providing the pictures!

Today's guest post for "Three Things That Make You Smile" is the seriously adorable, MaryAnne. She just might be the cutest person I know. No wait, she is the cutest. For proof, go check out her blog and Etsy store. I also did an older blog post about MaryAnne as well. Here are her three things that make her smile. Enjoy.

In the park

I had the pleasure of attending one of my dear friend's wedding this weekend. It was held at Beazel Park, Oregon. It was charming, rustic and all around lovely. The photography is by Courtney Jade.... absolutely beautiful photography. Enjoy.
I loved all the pretty ribbon blowing in the breeze. A beautiful couple!
It was a perfect Oregon day.

Cute cake toppers.
I was envious of the flower girls' tutus.
Can we talk about the floral arrangements?!! I LOVED them. Dahlias in pumpkins! And there were flowers in zucchini too!

Congrats to the happy newlyweds!
