Recurring

Clearly, I have a thing for the Eames Dowel Leg Chairs. This are just a few of my dining pins that happen to showcase these beauties. Once we move, I'm hoping to sell my current chairs and purchase a set of Eames replicas. Oh, how lovely it will be.

Floral Crowns

After a couple hours, I succeed in making two floral crowns! It was my first attempt at creating these lovely head adornments so I'm pretty proud at how they turned out.  It involved a lot of wiring and taping and was far from being a quick task. But they're so beautiful that it was worth the time and pain. If only they'd last a little long. After a day, the flowers were goners without water. Hope you've been enjoying your weekend as well.

Flowers, flowers, and flowers

Yesterday, I attended another Montana School of Floral Design workshop. It was all about wedding flowers. We created cascading and hand bouquets, boutonnieres and corsages. We learned so may techniques that will come in handy when I put together some floral arrangements for my friends' weddings this summer. Here are some photos of my work. Clearly, I am not a professional photographer so I apologize for the subpar photos. Enjoy.
I took apart of the designs from last week and made smaller arrangements. We have so many flowers throughout our house right now!

Modern vs. Classic

Time to take sides. Do you align more with the clean, sleek look of the Modern design? Or are you more partial to curves and soft lines in a Classic design?

I'm Team Modern all the way. Although I will say, I am loving the items I pulled together for the Classic look. Add some Calacatta Mable and the Classic would be timeless and breathtaking.

Lucky Ladies - Friday's Fancies

I'm back! I've been a little M.I.A lately. I think it's due to the fact that I just bought a NOOK. I've been reading versus heading to the computer after getting home from work or the gym. Not that that is a bad thing but I've ignored this blog a little too long. But this upcoming weekend is St. Patrick's Day so I thought it was time to join back in on the Friday Fancies' fun. Since the holiday falls on the weekend, I've constructed a more relaxed yet festive look. Easy to run around town and get all those errands done before Monday rolls around again. I hope you all have a fabulous weekend. I'll be seeing you around.

Floral Design

This past weekend I took a floral design workshop through Montana School of Floral Design. It was a lot of fun. We learned some basic principles and techniques. We made a total of five arrangements that are gracing my home. I love all the fresh flowers! My favorite arrangement we did was our very last one and we created whatever we wanted with the flowers provided. The photos below are my arrangement. I'm really pleased how it turned out. It lush and colorful and makes me smile! I cannot get enough of floral design so I'm heading back this weekend for the wedding flowers workshop. Wish me luck.

Mini-Vacation

I was lucky enough to join my boyfriend's family in Puerto Rico recently. It was a great mini vacation of sun and relaxation. Now I'm busy at work and back in the Montana cold. But we're counting down the days until Aruba in April. wahoo.

Red + Pink - Friday's Fancies

This week on Friday's Fancies we're celebrating Valentine's Day with a little red and pink combo. I decided to go simple and spring inspired...sunny and warm. If only I was able to wear this in MT now. brrrr. Enjoy your weekend and I hope you had a lovely Valentine's Day. xoxo.

Floral Recipe

Yesterday, I ran to the grocery store and picked up some lovely flowers and greenery. I love designing floral arrangements so I thought with Valentine's Day tomorrow, no better time than now. I am trying to learn all the names and of flowers so I did some research. I think I've figured out what I picked up at the grocery store so check out the recipe below. Please let me know if I'm off on any of the flowers names. I'm happy how it turned out. A modern take on V-Day flowers.

Peach Bridesmaid Dress

I get the honor of being a bridesmaid in one of my friend's wedding this summer. We go way back to elementary school. She's letting us select our very own peach bridesmaid dress. THANK YOU! Naturally, I started a Pinterest board to start gathering ideas (lots of peach dresses if you're in the market). Here are some of my personal favorites at the moment. And they are very budget friendly too. Take the quick poll below and let me know what you think!

Whole Bowl

The hardest part about moving from Portland to Montana...the food. I miss all the amazing restaurants in PDX. One of my favorite was The Whole Bowl. It was perfect for a healthy and delicious lunch. They have two food cart locations and itty-bitty restaurants. Since I can't have their delicious bowls in MT, Joel and I have started created our very own sauce here (see below). It's definitely not perfect but it comes pretty close.  So what's exactly in a Whole Bowl? Well, the basic ingredients include rice, beans, black olives, cheese, avocado, cilantro, sour cream, salsa, and the sauce. The trick is nailing the sauce. We've also been throwing it into a tortilla with chicken and lettuce too. So check out the recipe below and give it a try. Enjoy.

Art Deco

I've got the Roaring Twenties, Art Deco style on my mind. Check out my Pinterest board of this style. Since it's Friday, I thought it would be nice to pull together so Prohibition Era cocktails. Enjoy one, two or all this weekend.

Wet Room

We're currently working on a bathroom for a client with some sticky spacial dilemmas. Our new thought is to incorporate the tub and shower in one space to create a wet room. I am really digging this look and idea. Here are some of my favorite inspiration photos of Wet Rooms.  Would you ever have your shower and tub all enclosed in one space?

Paperman

This animated short film, Paperman, makes me smile. I'm sure you've already seen it before but it's worth watching again. Adorable.

Hit the Slopes - Friday's Fancies

We're hitting the slopes on this Friday's Fancies. Of course, we're doing it in style. Now I just to get back out on my board this winter. So have what's your must have gear/brands when out snowboarding or skiing this winter?

Enjoy the weekend and happy Friday!

Warby Parker

Here are lots of pictures of my face...
No, but really it's this awesome virtual try-on over at Warby Parker. Have you heard of them? They are this totally affordable and hip eye glass company. They will actually send you five pairs of glasses to try on at your home and then pay for the return postage. Isn't that so clever? You also might be able to find them as they tour around the country on their Class Trip. My co-worker is getting a pair and I couldn't resit trying a few pairs for myself. I don't need glasses but if I did which would you suggest that I purchase?

Name to Know: Pigeon and Poodle

I recently received the loveliest catalog in the mail at work. It's from this fabulous company called Pigeon and Poodle. They sell stylish bath accessories, baskets, and frames. It's refreshing to see home accessories with style and flair. The company just launched and they're to the trade only (designers and showroom, get on it). Let me know your thoughts on their products and enjoy the new find.

I cannot decide which series is my favorite. There are too many items that I love. I am really partial to the Cannes collection. But then again that Manchester collection is rather wonderful too....
