Spring Fever - Friday's Fancies

It's still winter but that doesn't mean we can't plan ahead or dream! I'm still enjoying winter but I could use a tropical vacation to relax. For this Friday's Fancies we're embracing warmer weather and the thought of spring.  Instead of going the traditional floral and pastel look for spring, I've gone for a more bohemian and exotic look. It's the perfect outfit to be whisked away to a tropical location.

I'm a winner!!!! I entered SOREL'S Polyvore Style Challenge. We had to create a Sundance inspired outfit from select items. My look was in the top ten! This means I win a pair of SOREL Boots! I already own the Joan of Arctic boots (featured below) which are comfortable, funtional, and very stylish. (I tell my boyfriend that I can get style and function in one product. My boots are proof of that). Now I need to decide what other pair of SOREL'S should come home with me. Tough decision. So help me out.....What are your favorite pairs of SOREL Boots?

Seeing Double?

I'm a sucker for pretty bedding. Of course, Dwell Studio and West Elm always have eye catching beauties. This morning it came to my attention that they also have a very similar duvet. Both are in the same color palette and scallop design. It's hard to pick a favorite between the two though. I saw the West Elm one this weekend and it was lovely. The Dwell Studio duvet is out in March. Which duvet do you prefer?

Awesome Find

Yes, those are shorts and they rock. Well, I think they rock. I found them at Marshall's for $12.99! I ran around the house showing off these shorts today....yes, it is cold and my legs are extra white. Who cares, these shorts are too cool not to show off. I'm going to pair them with black nylons and boots so I can appropriately wear them now though. (I'd also love the material for a rug or pillow fabric. Just saying).

Our living room rug has seen better days. It's very old and dingy. Endless amount of vacuums and steam cleaning won't help it. I've been keeping an eye out for the perfect, new area rug. It's hard because rugs are pricey little buggers. Here is the look I'm hoping to get in our new rug (someday). Any suggestions on where to purchase quality but inexpensive rugs?

Outfit Inspiration - Friday's Fancies

I'm in love with this week's Friday's Fancies. It's such a great idea. Pick an outfit you've seen online as inspiration and recreate it in your own interpretation. I'm constantly pinning outfit inspiration so it's really great to be able to translate the outfit to actual pieces of clothing. I quickly threw together my look this week but I think it turned out rather well. I love the warm cognac colors, thick layers, and the awesome graphic, Aztec blanket cardigan. Skip down below to see how I put this look together. I think it's a really easy look for a lot of women to wear while looking comfortable, chic and trendy all at once. Enjoy.

Snow Shoe

My boyfriend headed out this weekend for some snowboarding. So my good friend, Britni, and I decided to have our own snow adventure. We headed up to Mt. Hood and went snow shoeing! It actually snowed too. We really need more snow. It hasn't snowed much on the mountain.We packed our lunch and explored the woods. After our mini time in the snow, we got a drink at Timberline Lodge. It was an excellent day in the snow. Can't wait to do it again.

Color Crush - Friday's Fancies

Ladies and gentlemen, it was sunning in Portland today! The weather has been very good to us lately (I fear this is changing though). It was chilly but with bright, sunny skies. For those not familiar with the Pacific Northwest, it is grey and raining most of winter. Yes, that stereotype in true. Today's sunny weather has me dreaming of a little vacay somewhere warmer. Somewhere where I can wear bright orange and stick my toes in the sand. I imagine this little ensemble for my date night on my fabulous dream vacation. So who else wants to wear a bright and bold outfit with me and take an imaginary vacation down south with me? I'll see you there.

How I Met Your Mother

I've just started watching How I Met Your Mother. Yes, I know it's entering its seventh season now and am a little late with my obsession. But goodness, it is glorious. I really don't watch too much tv so this has been rather enjoyable. Although......confession, I've been sucked into watching The Bachelor for Monday Girl's Night though (shhhh, and I don't hate it). So what tv shows are you enjoying? Any must watch? Let's hear it!
