D & E

Yep, it's been awhile. It's so easy to fall out of the routine of blogging. My goal is get back in and stay consistent. Wish me luck. I guess it's like going to the gym and I've been way better at the gym than blogging. So there's hope...

Rewind to September where I was a bridesmaid in one of dearest friend's wedding. We've been friends since elementary and it was such a beautiful day to be part of. I was able to help out and put together the Bride's and Bridesmaid's boutiques. Floral design makes me so happy especially when I'm proud of the results. And these bouquets were lovely. We got all the Dahlias from Pike Place Market in Seattle. Every booth was filled to the brim of Dahlias is every color for a killer price. Our bouquets consisted of Dahlias, Queen Anne's Lace, Bupleurum, and Ferns. Dorothy Huynh Photography did a superb job capturing the day and the result are flawless. Luckily, the Bride and Groom are pretty easy subjects too. Also check out more photos on Dorothy Huynh Photography's website. Enjoy the wedding photos.

Devitt Design - Michelle and Craig's Wedding

I am very excited to be sharing this post this evening. I had the pleasure of being a bridesmaid in my wonderful high school friend's wedding this summer. It was a long week in the breathtaking Lake Chelan, WA and the wedding was held at Karma Vineyards. Not only was I able to stand along side my friend while she married the man of her dreams, I was able to create all the flowers for the special occasion. I've dabble in floral design before but this was my first attempt at wedding flowers. I'm pretty proud at how they all turned it. They were so cheerful and fun...just like the bride and groom. So take a look at some photos captured by Stephen Probert Photography. And if you want more, then there's plenty more to check out here. I hope you enjoy all the flowers too. Happy Sunday.

Flowers, flowers, and flowers

Yesterday, I attended another Montana School of Floral Design workshop. It was all about wedding flowers. We created cascading and hand bouquets, boutonnieres and corsages. We learned so may techniques that will come in handy when I put together some floral arrangements for my friends' weddings this summer. Here are some photos of my work. Clearly, I am not a professional photographer so I apologize for the subpar photos. Enjoy.
I took apart of the designs from last week and made smaller arrangements. We have so many flowers throughout our house right now!

Peach Bridesmaid Dress

I get the honor of being a bridesmaid in one of my friend's wedding this summer. We go way back to elementary school. She's letting us select our very own peach bridesmaid dress. THANK YOU! Naturally, I started a Pinterest board to start gathering ideas (lots of peach dresses if you're in the market). Here are some of my personal favorites at the moment. And they are very budget friendly too. Take the quick poll below and let me know what you think!

One of the Prettiest

I came across this photo shoot on Jose Villa's blog and it is just breathtaking. It's charming, classic and all sorts of beautiful.  I highly advise jumping over and looking at all the rest of the photos. Every single vendor involved nailed it.

JSwoops

I'm pretty giddy for this weekend. Yes, it's still early in the week and we aren't even close to the Wednesday hump. But hello, the boy is deejaying our friend's wedding this weekend. So clearly I'm excited. I've been able to get a sneak peak and let me tell you.....people are going to be rocking out and having a blast. There is a serious art form to deejaying that I can't even begin to grasp. The boy has talent. And not to mention this will be his first public appearance in the past couple years and my first time to see him dj outside the house. wahoo. Oh, and to top the weekend off...we're stopping by my parent's new house and get to see my family. Now you see why I'm counting down the hours till the weekend.
So are you looking forward to anything this weekend?

Non-Traditional

I think there are many wedding traditions that are beautiful but there are some that I could do without. One that many not agree with me on is a white wedding dress. Now I'm not saying that I would wear a red or black dress. But I often think a slight veer from white is quite lovely. A blush, gold, or cream is a perfect alternative. The best part is they're not as expensive as a "white wedding dress". All the glamour without the price tag. Wonderful. Would you wear another color besides white as a wedding dress?

The Bridesmaid

Here's a little Tuesday wedding inspiration. If you note back to many of my other wedding blog posts, you'll recall that I prefer mismatched bridesmaid dresses. This is a scary thought for some people. So I've made it very simple. I've chosen three color palettes to showcase some fabulous bridesmaid dress options. The best is all the dresses are under $100. Yep, chic and affordable. What's not to love? So which color palette would you pick?

Wedding Guest - Friday's Fancies

Summer time is wedding season time. It's time to prepare yourself for wedding attire. I've envisioned an outfit for an evening, cocktail wedding. All the pieces are right on trend but in a sophisticated black, cream, and gold palette. The hemline of the dress will look lovely as you dance the night away. And all the jewelry is part of the brand new Stella and Dot collection. So would you wear this ensemble to an upcoming wedding. Psst, I think this would make a killer bridesmaid's look too.

Check out all the other wedding guest outfits on Long Distance Loving for Friday's Fancies.

Wedding

Joel and I had the pleasure of attending our good friend's wedding back in Portland this past weekend. It was so much fun to head back to Portland to see all of our good friends and of course to dance the day away. I've also just been asked to be a bridesmaid in my friend's wedding next summer. I can't wait to celebrate their love next summer. So I've got weddings on my mind. Here are some inspirational photos that are speaking to me at the moment.
Beautiful wedding dresses. Love the lace and the layers.
Stunning men. I love the grey suit and the simple clean lines.
Mismatched bridesmaids dresses.
Of course, lovely blooms with lots of texture and layers.

PDX

Joel and I are headed back to Portland this weekend for my good friend's wedding. I can't wait to see everyone, eat delicious food, get some shopping in, and watch the Timbers beat the Sounders. I'm also pretty pumped to give me friends their wedding gift. I purchased this fabulous custom print from Almost Sunday on Etsy. I was able to match their wedding colors perfectly and get it to MT in plenty of time before the wedding. Isn't it great? Check out all of the awesome prints on Almost Sunday.

Wedding Season

It's officially wedding season. Congrats to the lovely Jen & James who were married today. I'm sad I couldn't make it to sunny CA to witness the love and beauty. Congrats. I have another wedding to attend at the end of June. What to wear? It's a difficult question but I've got some ideas. Which of these outfits would you like to wear to a wedding?

Country Romanace

I've decided for Wedding Wednesday, we'd go a little country. So without further ado, here is some country romance inspiration. Bust out the cowboy boots and enjoy the scenery.

on a side note,  I need to start learning to make "creek" sound like "crick".
