Sunny fabric

I had some fun yesterday at work. I was in charge of pulling together different fabric color board options for our client's home in Arizona. We focused on indoor/outdoor fabric and kid friendly. Our client isn't afraid of color so I was able to really have fun with some fun loving color. Do you have a favorite fabric grouping? We used mainly Trina Turk for F. Schumacher, Place Textiles, Glant fabric, Holly Hunt and Perennials Outdoor Fabric.

Black, Gray and Teal...
Multi Colored Fun...
Floral, Pink and Tan...
Orange and Red...
Shades of Green...
Which set is your favorite?!

Birds of America

Did you hear about the John Jame Audubon's Birds of America book was auctioned off and was sold for a $11.5 million. Look at the flamingo though?! I am in love. I found some fun fabrics that reminded me of the smile inducing flamingo.

This morning we continue our new series called "three things that make you smile". I have the honor to introduce our next guest....the adorable Kristen from 6th Street Design School. Her blog is a recent find for myself and I have been loving it ever since the day I stumbled upon it. She has such a fresh, young, and fun design taste that I love. Here are the three things that make Kristen smile....

Zanzibar

Sunday Fabric Inspiration. I started with the striking Zanzibar fabric. There are so many rich tones in this beautiful fabric. I started by adding a beautiful orange velvet and fun fur to add texture and color. To give more pattern to our palette, I added the fun navy Ziggurat fabric. I am a sucker for geometric prints.
I have to add some glamour to our palette. A wonderful Celerie Kemble Bronze Glimmer fabric would look stunning upholstered on a chair. And maybe a chair or pillows in the "it" color of Chartreuse Ripple to add more color. To finish our fabric inspiration.....a beautiful linen/cotton lace fabric that would be perfect for draperies.
thoughts?

(All fabrics are F. Schumacher besides the fur which is a Kravet fabric.

all in one

I just love the cute yet sophisticated Birds & Butterfly wallpaper from Schumacher. I decided to pull some fun and youthful fabrics that work nicely with this lovely wallpaper. I choose geometric fabrics with rich color and strong textures. I wanted the wallpaper to be a simple background to the strong yet noncompeting fabrics.
(this fabric would look lovely on a headboard. Or even an upholstered chair or bench)
(great for a duvet or big, overstuffed throw pillows)
(airy and interesting fabric that would love awesome as drapery)

The room will need some cool colored accessories (blues & greens) and strong, simple lined furniture. Yep, that's the quick, little mini plan for this imaginary room. Enjoy.

wrap me up

Check out my very own custom computer case! My wonderful Mother made this darling custom computer case for me this weekend. A definetly plus of going back to my parent's house where my talented Mother lives. My Mac will be the most stylish computer in town. Yep, Kelly Wearster Trellis fabric with a wool/cotton blend interior and a lime green zipper. What is not to love?!
I love it!

revamp

I just adore vintage suitcases. I use a cute, vintage blue one and I get compliments on it all the time. I have been looking to invest in a slightly bigger suitcase though. I always come across one problem with every vintage one I find....the interior of the suitcase is just ugly and rather dirty. Well, not anymore with this little project. This adorable suitcase below was reupholstered in a darling Schumacher linen. Cute, right?!

This is going on my to do projects!
