In the details

I am not a photographer. I wish. I take pictures on my phone. Yeah, it's bad. My crappy real camera doesn't take pictures much better anyways. It is also really hard to photograph interiors. Or maybe it's just me. Probably just me. I decided to snap a few detail photos from my phone of our new place. Enjoy.

Maybe someone with photography skills will come to my house one day so you can fully enjoy its greatness. Or we can be friends and you can visit me.
A classy bar. But we normally go to the refrigerator and grab a beer.
Everyone needs some Schumacher fabric in their lives.
A stylist yet practical coffee table tray.
Pillows in the bedroom. Humm, more Schumacher fabric too.

Birds of America

Did you hear about the John Jame Audubon's Birds of America book was auctioned off and was sold for a $11.5 million. Look at the flamingo though?! I am in love. I found some fun fabrics that reminded me of the smile inducing flamingo.

Westbourne

I am working on a little something for my client (slash lovely boyfriend). Here are some very fun fabrics that he is totally digging for his living room....yeah, he has some style. Thank goodness for an anti-man cave and the embrace of color.

Fabric #1. Fabric #2.

I would love to incorporate some of these pieces or ideas into the room eventually. These will help bring down the vibrancy from the fabrics. He has a wonderful boxy, textured, mocha-colored sofa already that helps with this too.
Rug. X-Bench. Lamp.
(Update: the boy wasn't thrilled with the x-bench fabric....easily adjustable)

What are you thoughts or helpful hints?

Bring me the moving truck.

I have fallen in love with this home and blogger. Bijou and Boheme is now one of my favorite blogs. But let's take a moment to discuss her beautiful stylish and kid friendly home. I want that mirror, rosewood console, tufted ottoman, Divid Hicks and Schumacher pillows, black and white rug, red armchair, antique settee, and about every other little item from her home. Love! How do you feel about this home? Could you live here? I sure could.

Zanzibar

Sunday Fabric Inspiration. I started with the striking Zanzibar fabric. There are so many rich tones in this beautiful fabric. I started by adding a beautiful orange velvet and fun fur to add texture and color. To give more pattern to our palette, I added the fun navy Ziggurat fabric. I am a sucker for geometric prints.
I have to add some glamour to our palette. A wonderful Celerie Kemble Bronze Glimmer fabric would look stunning upholstered on a chair. And maybe a chair or pillows in the "it" color of Chartreuse Ripple to add more color. To finish our fabric inspiration.....a beautiful linen/cotton lace fabric that would be perfect for draperies.
thoughts?

(All fabrics are F. Schumacher besides the fur which is a Kravet fabric.

Modern Nature

Schumacher just came out with their wonderful "Modern Nature" wallpaper collection. It is truly beautiful! I am sucker for anything nature-ish (I am from the Pacific Northwest...) and anything Schumacher. Here is a little preview of some of their sensational wallpapers from their new collection. Make sure to check them all out here.

Did you look at all the patterns and colorways? Have a favorite one?!

all in one

I just love the cute yet sophisticated Birds & Butterfly wallpaper from Schumacher. I decided to pull some fun and youthful fabrics that work nicely with this lovely wallpaper. I choose geometric fabrics with rich color and strong textures. I wanted the wallpaper to be a simple background to the strong yet noncompeting fabrics.
(this fabric would look lovely on a headboard. Or even an upholstered chair or bench)
(great for a duvet or big, overstuffed throw pillows)
(airy and interesting fabric that would love awesome as drapery)

The room will need some cool colored accessories (blues & greens) and strong, simple lined furniture. Yep, that's the quick, little mini plan for this imaginary room. Enjoy.

Elements

I decided to play around with some of the core pieces of a living room. I started off with a gorgeous Schumacher fabric and layered the rest of the timeless pieces into the inspiration board. Warm, rich tones are present with a lovely jolt of blue. Enjoy.

wrap me up

Check out my very own custom computer case! My wonderful Mother made this darling custom computer case for me this weekend. A definetly plus of going back to my parent's house where my talented Mother lives. My Mac will be the most stylish computer in town. Yep, Kelly Wearster Trellis fabric with a wool/cotton blend interior and a lime green zipper. What is not to love?!
I love it!

pattern play

Welcome to Denver's 2010 Home of the Year. It is very inviting with excellent use of bold colors and exciting patterns.
(I love the drapery fabric. It's one of my favorite Schumacher patterns... Hot House Flowers.)

revamp

I just adore vintage suitcases. I use a cute, vintage blue one and I get compliments on it all the time. I have been looking to invest in a slightly bigger suitcase though. I always come across one problem with every vintage one I find....the interior of the suitcase is just ugly and rather dirty. Well, not anymore with this little project. This adorable suitcase below was reupholstered in a darling Schumacher linen. Cute, right?!

This is going on my to do projects!

Imperial Trellis

I don't know if I will ever get sick of Schumacher's Imperial Trellis fabric and wallpaper. It is just wonderful. That is probably why it is one of Schumacher's best selling designs. The fabric comes in 8 different colorways. And the wallpaper comes in 10 colorways! Do you have a favorite color? Below are the fabric colorway options. I don't think it is possible for me to pick just one as my favorite.

Some inspiration pictures for you all. (oh, and Schumacher has a blog now!)

Child's Play

I just adore this F. Schumacher Mariner's Map fabric. It is just adorable. Perfect for a child's room with some serious style. I love maps, animals, and fabric. Throw them all together and genius is born. I brought along some other wonderful fabrics that would go with the Mariner's Map. Then add some yellow paint, blue velvet fabric and lots of toys and you have a wonderful, cheerful, children's room. Enjoy.

(I LOVE small geometric repeats. Especially Greek key prints)

(this is a serious close up of the fabric but the fuzzy texture is so much fun!)

What do you think? Could you envision this in a child's room?
