Welcome to 2012! Hope everyone had a very happy new year's eve. We hosted a little shindig at our place last night which was a success! Here's a photo I snapped of our blowers and the swizzle sticks that I made. Love swizzle sticks.

Midnight
I can't believe 2012 is almost upon us. I'm ready to celebrate a fantastic year past and drink in the new year. We're having an intimate night-in with our closest friends. I am excited to dress the home in some festive decor. I'm going with gold, black, white, sparkles, glitter, sequins, and more sparkles. Here's to a new year!
Pour me another glass.

I need sequins, more sequins. And festive balloons.

Tinsel Swizzle Sticks. To make any drink more festive.
I dream of anything from Confetti Systems but I think I might be crafty enough to make my own banner. But where to put it in my house? I do already have some champagne, NYE hats and noise makers.

Holida Party - Friday's Fancies
I'm so glad it's Friday again! I am looking forward to this weekend. I'll be doing some holiday shopping, checking out the Portland Bazaar and attending a holiday cocktail party! To celebrate Friday, we are over at {long distance loving} for our Friday's Fancies. I just love creating these. This week it's all about the holiday parties. I've created the perfect, modern party attire. I'm going for a similar look but I'll be rocking a blush dress and sheer sleeves with this bold, pearl necklace. I can't wait! What do you have planned this weekend? Any holiday parties for you?

Holiday Party
I already have one holiday cocktail party on my books. I guess it's time to start thinking of what to wear to our little holiday get together. I've pulled together four different looks. Which look are you loving? I seriously can't decide. I'd like to have four parties to go to so I could wear all the looks. Hey, a girl can dream.
Modern: dress/shoes/necklace/earrings; Classic: dress/shoes/bracelet/necklace
An interesting clock blocking Modern dress is a sheer hit at any holiday party. A keyhole neckline and orange pumps. Awesome. Of course, a Classic red dress and pearls are the perfect holiday combo. Very Parisian chic.

Where's my invite?
I spy confetti, striped and flamingo straws, chevrons, party dresses, fun nylons, fret design, pretty flowers, and balloons. Throw in some rock candy on sticks and I say this party is complete.
*Women of the world: please note this is how one should dress when invited to a cocktail party or another festive event. There is never a need to look cheap and trashy.

Banter Banners
I love the original l birthday banner (I just had one for my birthday) but these new ones are so much fun. I love updated traditionalism. Perfect for many different occasions or for permanent placement.

perfect for a party

paper, paper, paper
I am in love with this invitation idea. It is quirky yet still traditional. So check out the cutest little bridal shower invitations. The cute little envelope is glued to the larger paper and inside is accordion paper with all the information. All are letterpresses! Oh, and the shower seem to kick ass too.

awesome, right?

Tablescape
I am in table design dreamworld. I am really into creating lovely tablescapes. I am hoping to create one for my upcoming birthday (Halloween birthday. yippee) and am finding some of the most lovely inspiration. All these beautiful photos are from Yes, Please and their Hitched Photo Roll. Check out all the fun tables below.

I am seriously digging metallics (I spy lots of gold). A golden horse figurine (cute even if horses scare me). Pinks and aquas. And HELLO chevron patterned napkins.

rock candy. enough said.

rustic but not too cutesy. A very inviting table that makes you want to sit around and chat for hours (preferably with lots of wine or delicious cocktails).

painted burlap. genius way to add more color and glamour to hard-working textile.

Simple flowers in low, small vases with black accents and mood lighting galore.
I told you there were lots of beautiful tablescapes! Oh, I want to throw a party now. Do you have a favorite element from the tables?

Help me Oboi-Wan Kebobi, you're my only hope
I have a Star Wars party to go to this weekend. I wish I had this dress to wear...
how does one dress cute and fit the theme of Star Wars?

The Beaux-Arts Ball
I am giddy with excitement. My cousin has two extra tickets to The Beaux-Arts Ball at the Portland Art Museum and I get to go! Yep, me! A ball inspired by art with performances by Seattle burlesque star Lily Verlaine, Gang of Four’s Dave Allen, and New York rock band Morningwood. Oh, and performers whose bodies are painted to resemble iconic works of art. Doesn't it just sound fantastic?! Now the only problem...what to wear? ahhh. Well, in my dreams I would be waring a stunning vintage dress from Xtabay in Portland. Just check out some of these dresses. Unbelievably beautiful.

less than two months!
I am already looking forward to Christmas decor. I love the holidays. (I don't really like how early it gets dark though). We are starting to plan our holiday party too! Oh, how I can't wait.
