hello

I'm one of those gals that love bold, statement necklaces. It's not everyone's thing though. I tried to put on this awesome bid necklace on my sister...she was not having it. But look at these one of a kind beauties from Noble House Designs. In love. I can't even decide which one is my favorite. Are you daring enough to rock one of these necklaces? I'll take one or all of them!
Amazing, right?!

All necklaces from Noble House Designs.

You're probably thinking that you don't have anything to wear with such a striking necklace....Wrong. Jeans and a black would makes these necklaces stand out. I'm sure you have that in your closet.

blush

My dear friend is pregnant with her second child (congrats again Cristina). They haven't found out the sex of the little baby yet. It will be adorable for sure. I decided to designed a little girl's nursery.  I normally don't like "gender colored" baby pink or baby blue rooms but I decided I'd give the baby pink a try. The room is more streamlined so it doesn't become too girly with all the pink. And I just love the Golden Rule artwork. It's perfect for a kids room!

decor

I made this little arrangement on Thanksgiving for the table. Well, I actually made two. We wrapped the vases in birch bark which added a great textural element. I t was very proud at how they turned out. Did you do any table decor at your festivities? I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I used feathers and a little mailing tag for the place cards. Everyone seemed to like them and it was super easy.
We also take our Christmas card photo every year at Thanksgiving as well. My sisters and me.

free time

Last week, everyone was buzzing about the new trailer for The Hunger Games.  I was out of the loop. I hadn't read any of the books in the series. Well, I have quickly changed that. I immediately went out and purchased the first book in the trilogy and was hooked from the first page. I just finished the first one and am now onto the second. I can't wait to see the movie when it comes out in March. I highly recommend the reads before then though. Oh, and how perfect is the Stella & Dot On The Mark necklace for this series? Have you read the books? Thoughts? Excited for the movie?

Take a look at the trailer and you'll be sucked in too.

Mix and Match - Friday's Fancies

Mixing patterns can be rather intimidating. I still struggle with this concept when it comes to fashion. Due to owning a lack of patterned clothing. None the less, here is my fashion inspiration board for mixing and matching patterns. Yep, this weeks Friday's Fancies from {long distance loving} is all about the art of putting two things together that don't technically match. But who likes matchy-matchy anyways? Is there a matching police anyways?
Join us.

Mix & Match - Friday's Fancies

The easiest way to mix patterns is to start small. Think a floral blouse and a polka dot scarf. The other way is like my inspiration board. It is simple and monochromatic. The tonal looks makes it much easiest to put two patterns together. Soon you'll be daring and mixing and matching like a pro.

Aspen

If I have to live in the mountains, can my house look like this?!
Below are photos from beauty entrepreneur, Aerin Lauder's Aspen home featured in Vogue.

I wouldn't mind sleeping in the "kids" room.

style at home

I was pretty excited when I got my email this morning from Glitter Guide letting my know the latest "Style at Home" series featured the fabulous jewelry designer, Maya Brenner. I first encountered Maya's work with Stella & Dot as a designer for them. She also sells some other delicate and adorable jewelry from her personal website as well.  I really want a gold bracelet from her Letter Collection. Now check out some of the photos from Glitter Guide's tour below.
isn't she stunning?
I spy some fabulous Stella & Dot jewelry!
I want to live in this bathroom.

tell me, tell me

Tell me your thoughts on these two dresses by Aqua.  Sometimes the things I love are a bit off from the general public (which I'm totally okay with!).  So yes, I LOVE these dresses. They are edgy and glamorous and awesome! If only I had somewhere to wear them.
I know one of my sisters isn't going to like these dresses at all (but they're black, Coco).
I'm incredibly intrigued to know your thoughts on these dresses.
I'm leaning more towards the fringe one being my favorite. You?

ohhh

Let's get serious, Mondays are kind of a drag. But this pretty wedding inspiration board will lighten the start of the weekend and put a smile on your face. These are just some of my current wedding loves. I'm drawn to gold, natural, and warm beige tones with a bit of glamor. Very pretty if you ask me. Well, it is my inspiration board after all. And no, I'm not engaged nor even close to it.

Holiday Party

I already have one holiday cocktail party on my books. I guess it's time to start thinking of what to wear to our little holiday get together. I've pulled together four different looks. Which look are you loving? I seriously can't decide. I'd like to have four parties to go to so I could wear all the looks. Hey, a girl can dream.
Holiday Party

LBD: dress/shoes/ring/earrings; Shine: dress/shoes/rings/necklace
The Little Black Dress is a never fail look. Spice it up with some serious bling. All jewelry styled is Stella & Dot. The Shine look is for some serious attention. You can't be afraid of the spotlight in this dress. Warm jewelry to compliment the dress (surprisingly, this was my boyfriend's favorite look).
Holiday Party

Modern: dress/shoes/necklace/earrings; Classic: dress/shoes/bracelet/necklace
An interesting clock blocking Modern dress is a sheer hit at any holiday party. A keyhole neckline and orange pumps. Awesome. Of course, a Classic red dress and pearls are the perfect holiday combo. Very Parisian chic.

Please grab a real coat when heading out the door for your holiday party. I don't want to see a rain jacket or a sweatshirt! You're grown up so dress like it.

Relax

We're hanging out with our good friends, making homemade pizza, drinking wine, watching football, and my sister is stopping by tomorrow. A great weekend if you ask me. Just an important tidbit: you should listen to the Mayer Hawthorne station on Pandora. Totally awesome!

I'm also on the hunt for faux leather leggings/pants. I NEED some.

I never thought I would utter the following words: "I need to add faux fur to my wardrobe".  I think these example speak for themselves. Fabulous and fierce. Yep, it will happen. How do you feel about faux fur? Do you wear it or would you wear it?
