boom
This Manhattan loft makes me giddy with excitement. This is my type of modern. Colorful, inviting, fun patterns yet clean-lined and updated. I am really trying to adopt a more modern aesthetic. I first need to get rid of some stuff (umm...shoes) and declutter my life. My boyfriend and my current boss tend to go down the modern route. I am trying to embrace it while still keeping it me. Wish me luck is this life adventure.
Do you all tend to gravitate to more modern or traditional interiors? Or another category all together. Do tell....

snow
Portland has been anticipating snow for some time now. It finally has hit the ground. Now we probably will only get one to two inches but that small amount still stops the city. We are wimps when it comes to this fluffly, white stuff. Now I need to figure out a stylish yet weather appropriate outfit for work. humm. If only we had more snow....I have the cutest snow boots. Another time and another place. Knitted sweater today!

time to shop?
I love shopping. And I really love dresses. These ones from Mod Cloth are so pretty. I just want to wear them all! Apparently I am liking cream, blush and black at the moment. Add some cognac pieces with them to add much needed warmth and deliciousness.

I have created a little how to guide below. Yep, this is my lazy Sunday attire lately. (well, more than just Sunday. shh). I would like to think that it is still chic while being oh-so-very comfortable. You can add a lovely belt or hat and be out the door. Oh, and don't forget the jacket...it's cold.

Saturday Adventure
It is sunny in Portland. Weird, I know. My boyfriend and I just rented a tandem bike and cruised around the river. We forgot to take a picture of our beautiful red tandem bike but he was a real winner. Yeah, for fun times and sunny weather. Here is a picture Joel snapped while cruising along.....(yeah, we are awesome)

Atlantic-Pacific
I am in fashion heaven thanks to Danielle at Sweet Nothings. Danielle posted about the amazing style of Blair from Atlantic-Pacific and now I am crushing over all of her outfits. Her style is inspiring me to incorporate new items in my wardrobe. Loving! So which on the following is your favorite looks? Or maybe another look from Atlantic-Pacific....
You know a girl has style when she can effectively and effortlessly pull of the look of layers and look damn chic.

Petersons Perspective
Onwards with the series "three things that make you smile". Today we have the delightful and adorable Kristen from Petersons Perspective. I went to college with Kristen and we have had the pleasure of staying in contact through our blogs. She also works at this cool modern furniture store in town (I have been bad and haven't been to it yet. driven by lots of time though. one day soon). Here are the three things that make Kristen smile. Enjoy......
I have always been very interested in architecture, fashion, design and art. I love looking at things and being amazed by their features whether it be the texture, the shape, the material, overall style, etc.

I love being surrounded by a beautiful atmosphere, indoors or out. There is nothing like being in a peaceful place looking out at the ocean.

I really enjoy doing anything creative. Crafts, projects, gifts, scrapbooking, DIY, designing, drawing, painting, etc. I may not be amazing at any one thing but I enjoy them all and that’s what matters to me.

Thanks Kristen. I would love to be at that pool this very moment. I am ready to fly to paradise now.

Camilla Belle rocked the sh*t out of this Gucci outfit. Better than the runway model. I am totally digging the bold color with simple pieces paired together perfectly.via.

Name that color
How fabulous would it be to walk into this home everyday. Your life would feel so dazzling. The door is such a cheerful color (I wonder what color the rest of the outside of the house is painted?). I am loving the gallery wall...very impractical if you wanted to actually view the photos. They are still captivating. The real question....What is the name you would give for the door color?

Mr. Wu
May we please take a moment and stop and stare at Jason Wu's GORGEOUS Fall 2011 collection? Lace, crystals, feathers, dot nylons...what more can a girl ask for? I love the mainly muted color scheme with exception of a few striking colors. Oh, so lovely.
Have you been following any of New York Fashion Week at all? Any other amazing designer's collection that I should check out?

Eclectic
I am a lover of eclectic styles when it comes to home decor. This is a great example of how well all sorts of different elements can be combined to make a beautiful room. My goal is to incorporate more contemporary and streamlined pieces into my design. I am really excited because I started working for a very well established designer in Portland and her taste is much more modern than my own....yay, for design growth and learning new things.

Come Clean
Okay, confession time. I adore Hilary Duff. She has seamlessly grown up into a sophisticated adult without any ridiculous scandals and wild nights out parting. I just love her fashion sense too (probably her stylist). She has the wonderful ability to be stylish while remaining comfortable and causal.
